Leicester Taxi Student Discount

Swift Fox Cabs are pleased to be the University of Leicester Students’ Union Preferred Partner.

We are offering the set prices listed below from Mayors Walk only. These journeys will not qualify for 10% discount.

All other journeys are fixed fare which means you will know the cost before you travel. No more meters, no surges and you will qualify for 10% off* the fixed fare price with any valid student I.D.

Our prices are cheaper than those set by the Leicester City Council which are used by the Black Cabs.

  • No extra charges after midnight or bank holidays (unlike the black cabs). Extra rates apply to the festive season only.
  • Mayors Walk to John Foster Hall only £5.90

Remember to always pre-book your vehicle so that your car is insured to take you. Always show your I.D. to the driver when entering the vehicle to qualify for any of the set price journeys or to obtain 10% off* all other journeys.

Student safety tips when travelling with any taxi company

  • Always try and pre-book your taxi if possible
  • Wait in groups and in a well-lit area
  • Make sure the driver has a council licence plate on the back of the vehicle. (This means that the car is correctly insured to carry passengers)
  • Do not flag down a vehicle that is not a hackney (it will not be insured to take you unless it is pre-booked)
  • Ask to see the drivers I.D. badge
  • Always give the full pick up and drop off address to get the best fixed fare.
  • Ask for a receipt
